Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Batch no. 088
Keen Coffee: Jaguara Espresso
APPEAANCE: Clear dark brown pour yields a two finger, medium looking, fizzy, crackly, light tan head with okay retention. Bistre brown body with some carbonation evident. Head recedes to a splotchy wisp and ring. Ring remains leaving touches of lacing on the glass. Kind of a lousy head on this one.
SMELL: Espresso roasted coffee, with notes of vanilla cream and roasted malts. Medium strength.
TASTE: Espresso roasted coffee, some vanilla notes, definite metallic character and some alcohol at the swallow. Medium but lingering finish of metallic flavors, burnt coffee beans, some light cream flavors, definite bitterness from the coffee, and some alcohol.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. A little lighter on the palate perhaps, goes down okay with a decent burn after the swallow, and finishes somewhat sticky. Decent heat lingers, especially for the ABV.
OVERALL: This doesn’t quite meet standards for the style. The coffee is a little metallic and stale while the base beer is too boozy and harsh for the ABV. Usually these guys are really good and their stout/porter is up there with the best in the country, but this one is a little disappointing. Skip this one and try one of their better offerings.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
