Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, creamy, mocha-colored head. Smells of roasted, slightly caramelly malt, tonka bean, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is a great balance of rich roasted, caramel malt and tonka, coffee and cocoa beans, with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, mocha, dark, bitter chocolate and hints of dark fruit, almonds, woodruff and tobacco. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some roasted malt, tonka, coffee and chocolate lingering in the aftertaste. Full, creamy mouthfeel with a rich body and light/medium carbonation.
A fantastic Three-Bean-Stout with a great, rich balance of tonka, cocoa and coffee, with each bean coming through quite intense, without taking away from each other. Very nice balance of sweet and bitter/roasted notes as well, with the roasted/bitter standing out quite a bit more, preventing this from becoming too sweet. Not a hint of booze to this either, which is amazing considering the ABV.
