440 ml can, as Moersleutel motor oil coffee, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 12%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Distinct aroma of roast malts and coffee, also hints of dark chocolate and liquorice. Medium sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. The sweetness is to some degree balanced by the roast malts and decent bittering hops. Good beer!

Got this one from De Bierkoning in Utrecht
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Russian Imperial Coffee Stout
APPEARANCE: Pours out a syrupy clear black and yields a one finger, thicker, creamy tan head with good retention. Head slowly recedes to a swirly wisp and ring. Black body with no carbonation evident. A swirly wisp and ring remains until the end leaving touches of lacing falling down the glass as it empties. This is a really good looking beer. A bit blacker and it'd be perfection.
SMELL: Huge coffee right away. Lots of deeply roasted, almost burnt coffee beans and some vanilla cream to go with it. A little one dimensional maybe but it’s huge and enticing too.
TASTE: Lots of roasted coffee and vanilla cream up front. Really roasted, with a good amount of alcohol as well. A little too much booze, perhaps. Really roasted and alcoholic at the swallow, with a bold finish of roasted coffee beans, burnt and bitter, sweet cream, vanilla and hints of butterscotch, as well as a solid dose of alcohol lingers on the palate. Huge and relentless flavors just don’t quit. Love it.
PALATE: Full body, thick and creamy, with slightly lower levels of carbonation. Heavy and creamy on the palate, goes down fine with a decent burn after the swallow, finishing sticky on the palate. Some heat lingers. Big, thick, heavy and beastly.
OVERALL: Yes. The best Motor Olie variant I’ve had so far. They must have beefed up the recipe a bit since having so much success with their other stout beers, but I’ve got nothing against improving recipes as you go. This stuff is excellent. Really flavorful and aromatic, with a huge, thick and menacing look and feel. If it were a little blacker off the pour and a touch less boozy, it would be top tier material. Still, this is about as good as it gets and I’d be glad to drink it regularly. Another massive success from the De Moersluetel kettles. Cheers!

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a small, creamy, mocha-colored head. Smells intensely of caramel, roasted malt and coffee, with lighter notes of chocolate, tobacco and just a hint of herbal hops. Taste is a great balance of caramel, roasted malt and rich notes of coffee and chocolate, as well as lighter notes of tobacco, licorice and just a hint of cinnamon, dark fruits and herbal hops. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some caramel malt and roasted coffee lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and light/medium carbonation.
Quite a rich coffee stout with an intoxicating aroma and excellent balance of sweet, roasted and bitter notes, although way too sweet and boozy for my personal taste, especially as it warms.
