From a 44cl can into a pint glass
IPA Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo and Equanot
APPEARANCE: Pours out hazy and yields a small, medium looking, foamy white head with lousy retention. Hazy, murky gamboge orange with no carbonation evidence. Orange juice looking. Head quickly recedes to a splotchy wisp and ring.
SMELL: Strong aroma of orange juice, mango, tropical fruits, lots of passion fruit and some pineapple on the nose. Bold and very East coast.
TASTE: Juicy and flavorful, with orange and tangerine, juicy tropical fruits like mango and passion fruit, some pineapple and a light bitterness at the swallow. Fruity finish if full of tropical, fruity sweetness, mango, lots of passion fruit, pineapple, and a hint of piney bitterness lingering on the palate. Good stuff.
PALATE: Medium body and lower levels of carbonation. Juicy, not overly creamy, goes down fine and finishes a touch dry. Hint of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: This is a great NEIPA. This one reminds me of their n(ETA) many moons ago, and it’s just as good. This has all the right stuff in all the right places. I’ve tried to brew this style a zillion times and it just doesn’t work the way it should. This one definitely works the way it should. De Moersleutel brews the best NEIPA in the country so far, and with their killer line of imperial stouts, they are probably the best in the NL at nailing the more trendy American styles at the moment.
