Got this one from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Batch 197
Best before March 2021
Brewed with coffee, lactose, cacao nibs, muscovado sugar and vanilla
Collaboration with Multi Beer
Double Tiramisu Pastry Stout
APPEARANCE: Transparent dark brown, almost black pour yields a 2+ finger, thicker looking, creamy light tan head with great retention. Black body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full wisp. A splotchy wisp and ring remain leaving touches of lacing down the glass as it empties. Nice head on this one, but the color is a little lighter than I’d like for the style.
SMELL: Definite coffee and lactose on the nose, with sugary vanilla, milk chocolate, brown sugar, toffee and cotton candy. Bold and desert-like.
TASTE: Creamy coffee, sweet lactose sugar, vanilla cream, milk chocolate and brown sugar up front, with some roasted character at the swallow. Bold finish of sweet lactose, vanilla and milk chocolate, brown sugar, toffee, butterscotch, as well as some bitter coffee beans lingering long after the swallow. Pastry stout supreme.
PALATE: Fuller body and medium carbonation. Creamy smooth on the palate, silky, goes down smooth and finishes slightly sticky on the palate. Some light bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: This is great stuff. Lots of sweet stuff going on, with all the adjuncts in all the right places. Creamy and flavorful for sure. Continue to love what these guys are doing. If you’re a fan of pastry stouts, which I definitely am, this is one you’ll really enjoy. Another winner from De Moersleutel. Cheers!
