Pours yellow, with plenty of fluffy white foam. Mildly hazy. Smells really floral, pile of potpourri. Mouthfeel is nicely soft, good thickness, with subtle carbonation. Tastes weirdly bitter and lots of dried flowers and something fruity. Odd hop combo.

Best before 21 January 2012
Batch 225
NEIPA with Citra, Loral, Centennial and Idaho-7
APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium looking, slightly foamy white head with good retention. Hazy, bright golden amber orange with no carbonation evident. Head recedes to a full, foamy cap. A light half wisp remains leaving touches of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Mango, pineapple, honeydew melon and caramel aromas on the nose. Medium strength.
TASTE: Lots of passionfruit, caramel sweetness and melon flavors, some pineapple, and a decent dose of tart citrus grapefruit up front and into the swallow. A decent amount of bitterness, moving into a bold finish of caramel, passionfruit, some mango and pineapple sweetness, as well as some piney bitterness and tart character lingering on the palate. Bitter-sweet and sour all wrapped up into one.
PALATE: Medium body and very, very creamy and smooth on the palate. Slick and velvety almost. Goes down silky and finishes a bit mouth-coating. No heat lingers. Very creamy and silky here.
OVERALL: This is an interesting one. It’s definitely got the NEIPA quality and the mouth-feel is outstanding, though it also has a lambic-like quality to it. The light citrus tartness could be right out of a Belgian yeast strain. Lovely stuff and refreshing as well. Big fan. Cheer!
