Got this from the De Moersleutel website. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Canned 22 April 2021
Stout with peanuts, vanilla, chocolate and cacao nibs
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, creamy tan head with excellent retention. Slowly fades to a faint wisp and ring. Black body with no real carbonation evident. A splotchy wisp remains until the end leaving touches of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Nuts, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, notes of cacao, butterscotch and some roasted character on the nose. Peanut brittle. Medium strength.
TASTE: Nuts and milk chocolate up front, with vanilla cream and some roasted flavors at the swallow. A decent hit of alcohol, moving into a bold and lingering finish of roasted bitterness, milk chocolate, vanilla cream, nuts, and some alcohol as well. Flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes slightly mouth-coating. Some roasted bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Good stuff. Signature De Moersleutel look and feel with a yummy flavor profile. This is the stuff that makes me love these guys so much. It’s always good and there’s lots of it. I think I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: I could get by on these guys and a good German weizen brewer. Perhaps I could persuade them to put some more stout in barrels, but that’s a minor issue. Check this one out if you’re a fan of nuts in stout. Cheers!
