From a 44cl can into a snifter
Canned 12 May 2021
Imperial stout with tonka beans, vanilla and cacao nibs

APPEARANCE: Black pour yields a 3 finger, thicker looking, creamy, dark tan head with great retention. Jet black body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full, thick, creamy cap and clings to the sides of the glass. A faint wisp remains leaving lots of nice lacing down the glass. Solid color and great head on this one. Just as good as all the others.

SMELL: Some spicy tonka beans, vanilla notes, milk chocolate, lightly roasted aromas with hints of creamy dark chocolate. Bold and enticing.

TASTE: Vanilla cream, milk chocolate, lightly roasted malts and some spicy tonka beans up front. Some roasted flavors at the swallow, with a bold finish of tonka beans, cacao nibs, vanilla cream, roasted and burnt malts with some bitter dark chocolate lingering on the palate. Some light alcohol as well. Bold and flavorful. Great stuff.

PALATE: Full body and medium levels of carbonation. Creamy and smooth on the palate, a bit slick, goes down slick and smooth, finishing somewhat mouth-coating on the palate. Some heat lingers. Thick, heavy, silky, creamy, and surprisingly smooth for the style. Excellent.

OVERALL: This series is just killer, and this is a perfect example of its murderous nature. Aromatic, flavorful, with a huge, menacing feel to boot. One worth pushing helpless children aside for. I like kids and all, but something, you know, beer priorities get in the way of rational thought. Or perhaps rational thought takes precedence over children. Yes, that's it. Run, don't walk, to drink more Willy Tonka. Cheers!
