Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Canned 12 April 2021
Imperial Pastry stout made with lactose, pecans, vanilla, cocoa nibs, maple syrup, coconut and peanut oil
Collaboration with Folkingebrew
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, fluffy tan head with decent retention. Head recedes to a creamy cap and clings to the glass. Black body and higher levels of carbonation evident. Half wisp and ring remains until the end leaving lots of nice lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee aromas, hints of vanilla cream, coconut, caramel and maple syrup on the nose. Bold.
TASTE: Roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee flavors, with vanilla cream, coconut and caramel up front. Big finish with maple and booze at the swallow, moving into a bold and lingering finish of roasted and burnt malts, chocolate, bitter espresso, some charred malts, caramel and maple syrup sweetness, as well as a good hit of alcohol. Flavorful, roasted and plenty bitter-sweet.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body with medium carbonation. Creamy and enough weight on the palate, goes down smooth with a bit of a burn and finishes somewhat sticky on the palate. Some solid bitterness and heat lingers. Full feel.
OVERALL: This is great stuff. A really good adjunct forward imperial stout without all the flare that fun additions can offer. This would be a stellar brew put into barrels. It certainly doesn't need it, but it needs it, if you know what I mean. Lovely stuff and well worth checking out if you’re a fan of the style. Cheers!
