Got this one from the De Moersleutel webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a pint glass
Canned 26 May 2021
NEDIPA 8.5%
Hops: Chinook, Cashmere, Topaz & Centennial
APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium, fluffy, foamy white head with good retention. Cloudy safety orange with no real carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a foamy wisp and clings to the sides of the glass. A splotchy wisp remains leaving decent lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Honeydew melon, mango note, hints of pineapple and some caramel aromas on the nose. Decent strength.
TASTE: Caramel flavors, some spicy hops, melon notes and some mango up front. Bold finish of spicy hops, some melon, honeydew and caramel sweetness, mango, pineapple and a touch of alcohol linger on the palate. Flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. A bit of spicy alcohol lingers.
OVERALL: Good stuff all around. A tasty DIPA with lots of good character. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of the style. It’s not quite that tropical fruit bomb of a New England IPA, but it’s certainly a well-made, enjoyable brew that’s worth a second glass. De Moersleutel has been my favorite stout brewer for a while now, and they’re probably my favorite IPA brewer now as well. Cheers!
