Got this from the Moersleutel webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a pint glass
New England TIPA 9%
Hops: Nelson Sauvin, Enigma & Motsuka
APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium looking, creamy white head with excellent retention. Cloudy murky amber orange with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a half wisp and clings to the glass. Splotchy wisp remains leaving touches of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Carmel aromas, with lots and lots of tropical fruits on the nose. Aromas of pineapple, mango, passion fruit, as well as some melon and honey on this one. Aromatic and enticing.
TASTE: Bold flavors of caramel and honeydew melon sweetness, as well as tropical fruits and some alcohol at the swallow. Bold finish of caramel, melon, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, some light hop bitterness and some booze linger on the palate. Flavorful and enjoyable.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down fine with a bit of a bite and finishes a touch mouth-coating. A bit of heat lingers.
OVERALL: Lovely stuff. This one is a little more alcohol forward than this style needs to be, but if it’s called a triple IPA, then I guess this is a triple IPA. I’m still not convinced that hop forward beers benefit from an ABV that approaches double digits. Either way, this has lots of the right things in lots of the right places, much like virtually all De Moersleutel’s IPAs nowadays. Love these guys and this beer is another reason why. Check it out if this is you’re kind of thing. Cheers!
