Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Imperial pastry stout with coffee, maple syrup and lactose
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 2 finger, looser looking, fizzy light tan head with lousy retention. Head quickly recedes to a thin film and ring. Black body and no real carbonation evident. Slight ring remains but looks slightly flat rather quickly.
SMELL: Roasted malts, coffee aromas, lactose and some caramel notes on the nose. Medium strength.
TASTE: Roasted flavors, bitter coffee, lactose flavors and some alcohol at the swallow. Bold finish of roasted malts, bitter coffee, caramel and toffee sweetness, touches of maple syrup and some burnt bitterness linger after the swallow.
PALATE: Medium body and slightly higher levels of carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, a touch foamy perhaps, goes down fine with a bit of a burn and finishes slightly mouth-coating. Touches of booze lingers.
OVERALL: One of the lesser pastry stouts they’ve made in the series. Okay beer, but not necessarily something worth re-visiting. Pass on this one and go for one of their other world-class brews. Cheers!
