Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a pint glass
Canned 15 September 2021
Imperial stout with tonka, cacao nibs, vanilla, cardamom and nutmeg
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, creamy, frothy tan head with great retention. Black body with lower levels of carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full cap and clings to the glass. A faint wisp remains leaving touches of lacing on the glass as it empties. Solid look, just like the rest in the series.
SMELL: Big nose with plenty of spices on this one. Definite cardamom and nutmeg for sure, vanilla cream notes, milk chocolate, some lightly roasted aromas and some brownie notes. Very nice.
TASTE: Cardamom, nutmeg, milk chocolate, some roasted flavors and a decent burst of alcohol at the swallow. Flavorful and plenty of kick. Bold, roasted and boozy finish of spicy nutmeg, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, roasted and burnt flavors, as well as some solid booze linger on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine with a bit of a burn and finishes rather mouth-coating. Some heat lingers.
OVERALL: Solid stuff. Not quite as thick and rich as some of the others in the Willy Tonka series, but certainly close. Lots of aroma and flavor, though this one is a touch lighter and more carbonated than the rest. Still a top notch beer and well worth checking out if you’re a fan of the style.
