Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a pint glass
Canned 22 December 2021
Imperial stout with tonka beans, vanilla, licorice and cacao nibs
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, creamy, frothy tan head with great retention. Black body with lower levels of carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full cap and clings to the glass. A faint wisp remains leaving touches of lacing on the glass as it empties. Solid look, just like the rest in the series.
SMELL: Tonka beans, vanilla cream, some milk chocolate, roasted notes, and some definite licorice on the nose. A touch or chocolate brownies. Big nose; very aromatic.
TASTE: Tonka beans, vanilla cream, milk chocolate and some roasted flavors at the swallow. A good roasted kick and some alcohol as well, moving into a bold and finish of roasted and burnt malts, tonka beans, vanilla cream, anise and licorice flavors, milk chocolate, some brownies, as well as some decent alcohol lingers on the palate. Bold and flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Weighty enough. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine with a bit of a burn and finishes rather mouth-coating. Some heat lingers.
OVERALL: This series is unstoppable. The base beer is top notch so it doesn’t really even matter what adjunct candy you put on it. It’s always going to be great. Perhaps they’ll experiment more with this uncorruptible beast of a brew? Looking forward to the Japanese soy and fish oil variant, or maybe an Italian mozzarella and carbonara sauce version, or even various vegetable surprises such as carrots, broccoli and French haricot verts? Only the French stuff, obviously. Whatever it is, I’m sure it’ll be the best stout beer in the country. Kudos, kiddies.
