Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Canned 15 December 2021
Imperial stout with lactose, almonds, vanilla and cacao nibs
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a 2+ finger, medium-thicker looking, creamy, frothy dark tan head with great retention. Black body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full, thick creamy cap. A splotchy wisp remains leaving touches of lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Bold and aromatic. Lots of vanilla cream, cacao nibs, milk chocolate, creamy coffee aromas, roasted notes with a light nutty tone. Very aromatic and brownie-like. Lovely.
TASTE: Flavorful with plenty of vanilla cream, lactose sugar, nutty flavors, some milk chocolate and a touch of roasted character at the swallow. Bold finish of almonds, vanilla, lactose sugar, cacao nibs, some roasted, bitter coffee flavors and some alcohol linger on the palate. Very desert-like with bitter sweet creamy coffee character. Lovely stuff.
PALATE: Medium fuller body and slightly lower levels of carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes mouth-coating. Some heat lingers.
OVERALL: Excellent. Lovely stuff with lots of desert character. De Moersleutel always delivers with its pastry stouts and this one is no exception. Very enjoyable and well worth drinking in massive quantities. I suggest drinking lots of TAKAS before I drink it all. Highly recommended. Cheers!
