APPEARANCE: Pours a small, one finger, medium looking, foamy, frothy white head with solid retention. Cloudy amber yellow in color with no real carbonation evident. Head recedes to a full, frothy cap and clings to the glass. A faint wisp remains until the end leaving decent lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Lots of tropical fruits on the nose, with apricot, passion fruit, pineapple and some honeydew melon as well. Decent caramel sweetness base. Bold and aromatic.
TASTE: Bold flavors of tropical fruit, passion fruit, pineapple and caramel sweetness up front. Some honeydew as well, with more tropical flavors at the swallow. A bold finish full of apricot, passion fruit, pineapple, as well as some melon and caramel sweetness lingering on the palate. Flavorful, with plenty of good tropical hop flavors on this one.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. Tropical notes linger.
OVERALL: This is really nice stuff. Lighter in ABV but full of tropical fruit, New England IPA style character. Looks the part too. Another good IPA in the toolbox series. Well worth checking out if you’re a fan of the style. Cheers!
