Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Canned 14 February 2022
Rum & Vanilla soaked Freeze Distilled Imperial Stout
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 2+ finger, looser looking, foamy and fizzy dark tan head with okay retention. Head fizzes down to a foamy cap and then a half wisp and ring. Black body with no real carbonation evident. A ring remains but leaves no real lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Plenty of booze on this one, with definite wood and rum aromas, vanilla, licorice and tobacco on the nose. Bold.
TASTE: Plenty of boozy rum, woody flavors, raisins, dates, tobacco and licorice up front, moving into a boozy-sweet swallow. Bold finish of alcohol, rum, wood, dark fruits, plenty of tobacco and licorice, leather flavors, hints of vanilla and milk chocolate linger on the palate. Lots of boozy rum on top of a burnt tobacco and dark fruit base.
PALATE: Full body and slightly lower levels of carbonation. Heavy and slick on the palate, goes down okay with a big burn at the swallow and finishes very sticky on the palate. Lots of heat lingers. Love this feel.
OVERALL: This is a big, bad brew. There’s no mistaking the 17% and it certainly leaves a mark. Flavorful and good fun, but this is an ice distilled one that might not need to be ice distilled. The booze tends to get in the way of the flavor, making it a big bruiser for the sake of being a big bruiser. Good stuff but not worth a second go. Cheers!
