Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Canned 27 October 2021
ABV: 11%
Imperial pastry stout with lactose, hazelnuts, vanilla & coffee beans
APPEARANCE: Pours our clear dark brown and yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, light brown head with good retention. Black body with higher levels of carbonation. Head fades slowly to a full, foamy cap and then a full wisp. A light wisp and ring remain leaving touches of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Lactose sugars, vanilla cream, some creamy coffee aromas and a touch of roasted malts on the nose. Medium strength.
TASTE: Lactose sugars, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, with light notes of coffee up front. Some hazelnuts as well, with lots of lactose, roasted flavors, bitter coffee and some booze at the swallow. Bold finish of sweet lactose and vanilla cream, milk chocolate, coffee flavors, a light nut character and some bitter, roasted malts linger on the palate. Some alcohol as well.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body with slightly lower levels of carbonation. Creamy and silky on the palate, goes down slick with a bit of a burn and finishes quite sticky. Some decent heat lingers.
OVERALL: Good stuff. Another great example of what De Moersleutel does best. The look could be a touch darker for the style, but that’s a minor issue here. Great flavors and a wonderfully slick and silky feel on this one. This brew is probably more memorable than the slightly lighter versions of GraxXx in the past. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of the style. Recommended.
