Got this from the webshop a while back. Cheers!
From a 44cl can into a snifter
Canned 31 January 2022
Imperial stout aged in Heaven Hill, Wild Turkey and Belle Meade bourbon barrels
APPEARANCE: Pours our clear black and yields a 3 finger, medium looking, fizzy, dark tan head with solid retention. Pitch black body and medium levels of carbonation for the style. Head fizzes and crackles down to a faint wisp and ring. Swirly wisp and ring remains leaving no real lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Bold nose of bourbon, oak and wood aromas, caramel, toffee, as well as some vanilla and milk chocolate on the nose. Some lightly roasted aromas with hints of cookie dough as well. Bold with plenty of barrel character.
TASTE: Big and boozy up front with bourbon, oak, woody flavors some caramel and toffee sweetness, then a good dose of roasted malts, bourbon and booze at the swallow. Big finish of bourbon, vanilla cream and milk chocolate, caramel and toffee sweetness, cookie dough, a light brownie character, roasted malts and some decent alcohol linger on the palate. Flavorful and decadent.
PALATE: Fuller body and medium levels of carbonation. Creamy and slick on the palate, goes down smooth with a solid scratch and burnt at the swallow, finishing rather sticky. Some solid heat lingers.
OVERALL: Excellent stuff, yet again. Basically every barcode that these guys come out with is top shelf. The head was definitely fizzy on this one, but that’s a minor point. Great, rich and full aromas and flavors on this one with a thick, silky feel to boot. One worth checking out if you’re a fan of the series. Til next time we meet. Cheers!
