A classic milk stout. We start with an English base malt along with a blend of dark roasted malts that lead to complex flavors of bakers chocolate and espresso. We then use a hefty portion of oats and milk sugar (lactose) for a smooth mouthfeel and some residual creamy sweetness.
This lucious beer is best consumed on cold nights, hitting the slopes, or dumped over a bowl of vanilla ice cream.

Drink it fresh, keep it cold and thank you for enjoying another Moonraker craft beer.

Can from 11/16/16 into a tulip glass. Pours a blackish brown with two fingers of variable density tan head that had moderate retention and left spotted lacing. Nose is mostly roasted malt prominence with light sweet undertones. Taste follows nose but with closer match of roasted malt to lactose and sucrose. Think this may have been a bit too sweet when fresh. Finishes quite clean with just a hint of slightly lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is nice bodied and carbonation on the low-medium side. Nice milk stout, hope to get to try variants at some point...maybe even Irish whiskey aging would be very interesting.

16oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a darker cola brown body, close to black, one finger thick offwhite head, good retention. Small splotches of lacing. Smell is slightly herbal, bit of milk chocolate sweetness, lactose, touch of brownie. Flavour is more lactose and milk chocolate sweetness, balanced by a bit of dark chocolate fudge. Mild herbal, perhaps slightly grassy bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, smooth and nicely carbonated.

Appearance - Pours near black with cola brown edging. Tan, near finger width head shows fair retention before dissipating to a mostly barren surface and a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing aside from a few small spots found around the glass.
Smell - Aroma hits on sweet milk chocolate with lesser notes of dark chocolate and some coffee roast.
Taste - Follows the nose. Milk chocolate sweetness throughout with an underlying, dark character of coffee roast. Turns a touch sugary in the finish, with faint roast lingering in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate, tingly carbonation. Smooth, silky and slightly creamy texture that turns quickly to a semi-dry finish.
Overall - Decent brew, but way too sweet for my blood. A bit more roastiness on the finish would've been nice and helped to round out the sweetness. I've got 3 more cans, and I'll drink them in fair time, but a second purchase will not be happening.
