Got this from Bill at the Firestone Invitational. Not sure if it was Bill or Chad who bought it, but I was excited either way. Moonraker does some killer hazy IPAs. I’ve had two (from Chad), giving Yojo probably an underrated 4.15 (it’s 4.49 on Beer Advocate) back in 2015 and Yojo 66 1/3 a 4.06 two months ago (April 2018). Online description called it, “Yojo's double. This beer uses a propietary English yeast strain and is completely unfined and unfiltered; a juice bomb! This beer is hopped with Galaxy, Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra providing an immense apricot, peach and pineapple flavor with low bitterness.” Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra, nice! Galaxy, ehh. Nowhere as fresh as I’d want it but still excited to try it.

Poured a hazy pale color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Slow moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Citra and Mosaic jumped out on the nose to start. Also peach, apricot, pineapple, stone fruit, tangerine, floral and light papaya. Kind of faded in the smell, but peach/apricot lead the way. Can helped it out somewhat with peach, pineapple and Mosaic leading the way. Maybe even some mango and guava. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste was better than the nose. Could still notice that it was seven weeks old. Got peach, apricot, pineapple, guava, mango, stone fruit, Citra, Mosaic, papaya and Simcoe late. Was not detecting any Galaxy. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Just a super good New England Style beer. Felt like I overrated it overall, but would like to have again fresh and maybe adjust my ratings. (Overall - 4.25)

Second time having this beer, still fantastic. Beautiful color, almost peachy just like the taste and aroma. The whole experience with this beer is all about stone fruits and melon. Mouthfeel is nice, not thick and chewy like some hazy IPA's can be, more refreshing and easy to drink.

Pulpy yellowish-orange brew, opaque in thicker glasses and hazily translucent in thinner glasses. Pours a big, frothy, snow white head with excellent retention and lacing.

Huge hop aromas leap forth from the pour: pineapple, mango, oregano, peach, star fruit, black pepper, and berries, all floating atop a honey-cracker malt base.

Sweet, juicy, hoppy, and herbal on the palate, matching the nose stride for stride. Oregano, mint, and basil; honey; pineapple, mango, star fruit, peaches, and lighter berry impressions. Deliciously hoppy brew.

Smooth, lively, creamy, and active. This brew perfectly straddles the line between a crisp and stingy single IPA and a sticky smooth DIPA. Modestly dry finish. Fairly low - but not absent - bitterness.

A nearly flawless DIPA in the NE style, but with a crisp herbal bite more commonly found in modern West Coast IPAs. An absolute joy to drink.

Received in a trade and shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy light golden hue with a thin head that fades to leave a creamy blanket.

S - Aromas of light dank hops, pine, good pithy citrus, light malts. Faint alcohol. Solid aroma.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, malts are a little sweet. Fair amount of cracker bread notes. Grassy hops, spicy earthy hops, light onions, decent citrus.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated with the alcohol hidden well.

O - Overall this was a rather average beer. Would like the fruit to pop more.

Fresh 16oz can into tulip.

A: This beer pours a murky and turbid tannish-orange color with a disappointingly thin and short-lived white head. Is poor head retention typical of milkshake ipas? I don’t know. Spotty lace was left down the glass.
S: As expected, and incredibly juicy and fragrant nose full of sweet tropical fruit nectar, stone fruit, and citrus juice. I get notes of tangerine, pineapple, papaya, and a hint of peach. Some of the initial intensity volatilizes off as the beer sits in the glass, but the remaining scent is alluring nonetheless.
T: Disappointing compared to the nose, but still delicious flavors of citrus and tropical hops. More citrus than the nose let on; maybe even some pine. I get a touch of herbal hops in the finish along with a leafy/green bitterness. The finish/aftertaste is a tad rough around the edges, with a strange medicinal/aspirin quality mixed in.
M: Medium-full body with a refreshing drying finish despite a rather splashy and chewy mouthfeel. Carbonation is low, soft, and thick. Slightly rough overall though.
O: Haven’t had yojo yet so can’t compare. Solid overall, but nothing too exciting. Love the nose after the pour, but the rest is fairly straightforward.
