First review on BA. Known as primarily a bittering hop, Moonraker gets a lot of mileage out of showing the elasticity of the Simcoe hop.
Usual hazy dirty dull yellow from Moonraker with 1/2" white head. Aroma isn't just that brash bitterness of Simcoe reputation wise, this has an earthier side, good dry spring day in a forest kind of feel.
Taste is bitter and Simcoe like, but again, not brash, hides the alcohol very well, its a fun time drinker. The naming in the crushable series certainly works, this is definitely excellent in its simplicity and smash beer prowess. Light toasted malts carry and move a lot of weight in these projects. They're appropriate drinking in any season/temperature. Hot days on the river and cold ones in the mountains. It works. I dunno if its the green label or whatnot, but the beer seems to lend itself to the outdoors. Really does everything right except for its price at like $20/4pack after taxes neighborhood. Went in expecting less of this beer. Moonraker makes the vast majority of these beers top tier in their own game.
