West Coast Citra hopped pale ale. This beer is light and refreshing with just a hint of hop flavor and aroma. Five Oh Five got named in honor of our first beer that was brewed at our new Hanger; five-hundred and five feet from our tap room.

L: Transparent golden yellow in appearance. No head formation from the pour, and no lacing left on the glass.
S: Lemon, grapefruit, and malts on the nose with hints of freshly cut grass. Smells rather pleasant, bright and enticing.
T: Honestly fantastic. Malts are the foundation, and loads of citrus flavor on this bad boy with a mild hoppy bite at the finish. Malty sweet after taste with lingering notes of lemon, grapefruit and pine.
F: Light in body and weight with moderate carbonation. Finishes crisp and refreshing.
O: Amazing, could drink this all day. Light, crisp and refreshing. I would drink again and I am glad to try. Cheers!

Appearance - Pours clear and golden yellow in color with a white, quarter finger width head that dissipates quickly to reveal a barren surface with a razor thin, broken ring of suds around the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Pungent aroma that fills the room upon cracking the can open. Citrus and tropical notes galore, with just a faint trace of pine.
Taste - Follows the nose. Orange, lesser tangerine and plenty of tropical goodness. Hints of pineapple, stonefruit, passionfruit and guava. Trace of dank near the finish. Aftertaste lingers long with bright, fruity
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker upfront before a crisp, clean and mostly dry finish.
Overall - Damn is this a great new age West Coast Pale. Tropical notes give this a boost in flavor while still holding a bit of that classic West Coast character. I dig it for sure!

1st review on BA.
This was the first beer I had on a 6 beer flight at Moonraker. The name and appearance of the beer made me think this was going to be Moonraker's attempt at a 805 like beer. Certainly has the appearance of a light blonde ale/pale ale kind of beer with its golden hue and 1/2" white head. Amazing clarity to it. Aroma was grainy and mild orange citrus.
Taste was like a Citra hopped 805, which is to say a substantial improvement on that milquetoast affair. But i totally see what they were going for and I don't know any other conclusion to arrive at other than this is that thing. Its a max levity, high carbonation, golden waves of grain meets a light breeze of island citrus. Kind of reminds me of that Widmer Citra Blonde. Its very well hopped for a "light(er)" beer but certainly is just getting you warmed up for the rest of the Moonraker lineup. Its pretty agreeable stuff and definitely comes to mind as something you may offer up to those who think they don't like hops, but rather, don't like very bitter ibu war kind of beers. While this might be 40-50ibu, its well carried.
