Pours a super thick/murky dusty straw color with bright straw highlights at the edges. Nice bright white head, compact with great retention.
Nose is soft, with hints at guava and passion fruit, generally mildly sweet and floral. Not very aromatic (even adjusting for my unusually heavy seasonal allergies).
Taste follows the nose, subtle notes of tropical fruits and flowers, hints at the sweeter citrus. With some bitter citrus peel notes on the tail end. Taste has a wateriness that undermines it's better characteristics.
Mouthfeel is ok for a regular IPA, but for one that presents as thickly as this one it is an utter disappointment. Much too thin. Has the body of a typical pale ale.
Overall I am profoundly disappointed, I have enjoyed most moonraker stuff I've come across but this is a mediocre IPA. It's not undrinkable or gross or anything like that it's just super unmentionable and hits an awkward place between IPA substyles that doesn't really appeal to me as a good version of any substyle. Sort of the bland hippy mash of IPAs
