Poured from 16oz can into my Bell’s tulip. Canned 1/11/24.
Appearance: medium yellow haze with a moderately heavy haze anda. finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: dank and tropical passionfruit delight that manages to be juicy without being overly sweet. A very enticing aroma indeed. Excellent.
Taste: moderately sweet malt with a very tropical passionfruit and guava type flavor. There’s not as much richness to the flavor as in the aroma; I like the flavor, but it could use some more acidic bite or unctuous dankness or something.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a nicely smooth creaminess. Quite good.
Overall: I like this beer a lot but something in the flavor falls a little flat for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid beer, but I guess I’m spoiled with double hazies at this point and I’m looking for a little extra oomph or something.

Canned 6/13. Much more dank and piney than I’d expect from a NEIPA. Pale orange, very cloudy, fluffy light head and lacing. Notes of orange, pineapple, and lemongrass on the nose and taste, dank, tangy, and piney. Medium bodied, mild alcohol presence. Pretty good.

Pours a very cloudy opaque golden yellow color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is decent. Lacing is very good. Tropical and orange citrus aroma. Smooth, juicy orange on the taste with a hint of white grape on the end. Decent bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy whitish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin collar around the edge and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of gooseberry are present in the nose along with notes of lime.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of gooseberry flavors along with hints of white wine. No bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a very good job at showcasing the Citra and Nelson hops.
Serving type: can

Aroma - melon and tropical combination - some earthiness and slightly spicy/herbal hops as well.
Flavor is melon, white grape, slightly tropical and earthy; gains spicy hop characteristic as you sip.
Finishes sweet with a slightly bitter touch.
The deeper I dive into this one, the more complex I realize that it is.

April 2020, out on the river. Pours a yellow color, significant amount of haze to this one, bordering on creamy territory. 1/2" white head, above average retention. Nelson pops hard here, so hard I thought it was a 100% Nelson hopped beer, but I guess Citra and Mosaic are also pushing Olympic level trafficking weight of aroma hops here. All the diesel, mango, weed, tangerine, orange, guava and hippie body odor garlic notes. Big time.
Taste is yet another amazing banger from Moonraker. Nelson still leads the way here, keeping that diesel strain pouring over all of the senses. Even with 100 days on the final can in the 4 pack, it was still so dank and pillowy, but retaining enough bitterness to keep it beercentric as I know beer to be. The usual requisite amazing job at making 8% insanely drinkable.
I'm ready to take the Auburn - Nevada corridor back. That area of Eastern California is just too cool to be part of the rest of that state. Nelson is my favorite hop, and it kicks ass here beyond its even normal ass kicking-ness.

Interesting, but too interesting. It has a great smell and look, but tastes too close to kerosine to be enjoyable enough to appreciate the other complex tastes it delivers.

L: Lighter yellow color.
S: Strong hop notes.
T: Clean refreshing with one hop flavor and a banana finish.
F: A hoppy beer.
O: An interesting twist on the usual DIPA
