Udderly Dark is here, and udderly delicious. The maple syrup emerged from it's 3rd and final year in a bourbon barrel and brought with it a beautiful barrel character with notes of soft vanilla and toasted oak. The cacao nibs from Cru Chocolate shine through with a rich milk chocolate that melts in your mouth. The last and final step to bring this beer together was a custom in house coffee blend that was roasted and ground minutes before going in the tank.

Brewery on tap
A: Mostly black, with hints of dark amber - no head or lacing to speak of.
S: Enticing, with nice coffee and roasted malt aromas, some pipe tobacco and cigar wrapper, light licorice, definitely a fair amount of chocolate and maple - very inviting!
T: Chocolate fudge, mocha, raisin, oaky maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, some stewed dark fruits and cherry; a welcoming hop bitterness and a hint of coffee/roasted barley/earthy malt provides some balance. It’s not exactly subtle: it’s a dessert stout for sure, so, be in the mood!
F: Nice chewy mouthfeel, moderate carbonation which helps to prevent cloyingness, and the lactose contributes a creamy aspect
O: It’s good! It’s sweet! However, it still has enough robustness from the base stout profile to prevent it from becoming cloying. It’s a dessert stout, so if you dig the style, then this is recommended. A worthy late night sipper, often reminding of a nice French Toast breakfast.
