A new westie for all you hop heads to shove your face into. This dry and sticky clear resin is saturated with one hop that we’re absolutely in love with right now - formally 074, it has now been upgraded to the name Vista.
Overripe white peaches. Pineapples in a fruit cup. Wonder Bread with the crust cut off.

Here's a pour that calls itself a westie, but doesn't have the clarity of such a beer typically. 1/2" white head.
So the Vista hop? I don't know, didn't impress me aroma wise. It does things that Nectaron, Galaxy etc. . . seem to do better. Commercial tug job about pineapple and peach, I dunno man, seems over-exaggerated. I got notes of green tea, pear and melon moreso.
The taste and mouthfeel brought the feeling of a dual use hop as the bitterness quotient was about right. Body seemed minimal yet still not crisp like a west coast ipa typically is, especially from a juggernaut like Moonraker. It still didn't display the fruit forward notion as much as I expected based on the write up. I dig the use of new proprietary hops, counts good for that exposure.
I really liked the label on this, spoke to me as a hop grower and family man. Apologies to funko pop Disney adults. Ha, that's funny, this beer isn't even in the top 10,000 ranked ipas here. I don't think my rating is gonna help, even though I marginally liked the beer.

A beautifully executed all -season IPA. Perfectly balanced and the Vista hops are fantastic. Golden and clear. The fruity hops and crisp body give a refreshing note that would work on a hot day, but there's enough backbone to be good in colder months as well.
