In partnership with the Carolina Thread Trail, the brewers of Blue Blaze set out on an adventure all their own; one that gives craft beer fans of the Carolinas a beer that well suited for outdoor activities, thirst quenching, bold flavor and generosity as a portion of the proceeds of the beer sales goes to the organization's efforts.
Pale gold and topped with an arid and cottony froth, the lightly hazy beer spills onto the nose with a brisk and nutty scent that has citrus, grass and pine dancing gently on top. Its taste is crisp, succinct and gently sweet with a caramel, honey and nutty flavor to suggest granola.
As the ale rolls along the middle palate, its sweetness lifts and the hops grab ahold of the tastebuds with the citrusy taste of white grapefruit, orange peel and a hint of lemon. Lightly stemmy, grassy and leafy, the beer's bitterness leads with the peppery resins from hops for a piney finish with a brisk peanut skin malt support.
Medium bodied and trending lighter and refreshing, the beer's crisp malt backbone finish dry to the point that the sharper edges of hops and grain reveal a mild astringency and a medley of dried herbs in a long and bittersweet finish.
