10oz draft pour served in a pokal glass at fridge temp. The beer pours dense black with mocha brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring. Minimal aroma. The taste is nice. A little smokey malty with little bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with less than medium carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, pretty good. I would try their beer again. Sampled at mellow mushroom Pigeon Forge.

Can to tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking dark amber/brown color with a super subtle transparency closer to the sides. No head but some light wisps of lace concave themselves along the sides of the glass.
The aroma was absolutely amazing! Rich notes of dates and plums roll over top of deep dark bready lagery tones. Some dark toast, milk chocolate, a dash of pecans, some smoke, some brown sugar and ending with subtle hints of sweet wood.
The flavor yielded to the sweetness surrounding the dates and plums, seemingly coming across more like raisins than dates here. Once again, the dark bready lagery tones dance with the pecan nutty sweetness and toast and smoked sweet wood. Long aftertaste of rich decadent sweet woody nuts, sweet pecans, dark toast, cocoa powder, and raisins/plums.
The mouthfeel was between medium and full bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and ABV. Exceptionally smooth in the finish with some stickiness.
Overall, what a wonderful doppelbock, practically perfect for Spring!

Can. Amber with medium-lasting head. Caramel woody smoky aroma with some booze, sweet toasted brown sugar and and some herbal bitterness in long sweet finish. Medium-heavy and slick and slightly cloying. Needs to be softer on the palate IMHO.
