Our Helles is an easy drinking beer with a crisp, clean taste that is both smooth and refreshing. This traditional lager is a beautiful pale yellow with a mild grainy aroma and satisfying maltiness. One sip from this brew will have you saying “Hell Yes”!

Had this (Munich) Helles in the Bierhall at Schulz Bräu, Knoxville, Tenn., on draft into liter seidel mug.
Pours medium but bright gold with clarity and fizzing, 1-finger-plus, near-white head, which soon dissipates to a persistent film, and leaves only a few specks of lace down the glass. Mild biscuit, floral and even milder hop spice aromas off pour, then a little unsweet stone fruit aroma, but all diminishing as warms. On tasting, begins mildly but definitely malty with immediate hop spice, over a dry but full body, then a little sweet stone fruit appears, before a very crisp, mildly bitter, but still malty finish.
Although the head is regrettably short-lived, and the requisite refinement is lacking, this is a full-bodied Helles otherwise more than satisfactory for folks missing southern Germany.

I got a tall boy can of this beer from the Hilton Tru Hotel just outside Knoxville, Tennessee. It poured, smelled, and tasted like most typical Munich Helles beer. The mouthfeel was a bit fizzy but overall it's a great beer.

Schulz Brau's Munich Helles is a nice golden Helles with a nice smooth balance between hops and malt. Overall, has some nice herbal notes, some apple note, some butterscotch and even vanilla note, t and just the right amount of malt without being overpowering. Very pleasant to drink, has about a 1/2" foamy lacing, and smooth mouthfeel and nice finish. Easy to drink a lot of in one setting. And a solid 3.75 overall. My favorite of the Schulz Brau beers and always so nice when it's hot outside. And a solid beer always welcome in my refrigerator. I buy it every time I can find a 4 pack of 16 ounce cans. And offer it to my friends.
