Bottle from Belmont station.Pours out a deep Amber Ruby colored beer with the soft skin of beige head. Aroma is pit fruit , yeast. Taste follows with more of the pit fruit, sweet Belgian candy sugar, yeasty ,rich. One of the better American dubbles I've had.

Bought for around $7 at Coaltrain in Colorado Springs on day of review.
Aroma of ripe apples, complex layered yeast/bread dough, molasses and bready malt. The flavor is rich and complex. Ripe fruit, yeasty spice, unsweetened banana bread, rye crackers.
Conclusion: This is way above average for an American brewed Dubbel in my opinion. In fact, this is the best Dubbel brewed outside of Canada and Belgium that I have tasted so far.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium coppery amber with a two finger ivory head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of candi malt, raisins, light stone fruit, Belgian yeast; somewhat mineral. Flavor is light caramel malt, attenuated light stone fruit, orange, raisins, Belgian yeast. Finishes with residual mixed fruit and a little hoppiness. Light to medium bodied. This strikes me as a hybrid of a Belgian dubbel and an American golden ale. All the Belgian fruit flavors I expect are there, but they are lighter and somewhat muted than expected, but the there is a nice light, sweet malty quality that is a lot like a golden ale. This tastes good and has nice fruit notes throughout, but doesn't quite strike me as a dubbel, although the Belgian yeast is spot on.

gorgeous packaging, and the beer inside is an excellent belgian ale, its just not what i expect in the style. i know dubbel to be darker and malty, rich and sweet and fairly substantial, but thats not at all what we have here, this might be the palest beer ever dubbed a dubbel (see what i did there?!). barely even brassy in color, it doesnt come close to red or brown, although it has excellent clarity and a long lasting white head, it just doesnt look like a dubbel. it smells and tastes great too, of course it does, alesong is awesome, but its lacking the malt depth i look for in the style, and so as a dubbel, this doesnt really hit the mark, but when i let it ride and just enjoy it as a belgian strong or something, i start to appreciate it more, i stop looking for what isnt here, and appreciate what is. honey and toffee notes from the lighter grain, floral even with the mild belgian yeast strain in here, golden raisin and peppercorn, butterscotch too, tons of hints of this and that, and very wintery to me with the residual sugar it finishes with. overall a very well made beer, but somebody forgot to add the darker specialty malts, its like a naked dubbel or something, very interesting in this style context...
