I tried the regular Rhino Suit. I was not impressed; it was good, but many of the beer's adjuncts were sidelined. Considering this one has more coconut than the last? I am using a tulip, and the serving temperature is 50 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, two-fingered, light-tan head with exceptional retention. The somewhat slow dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color is dark brown, nearly black, with an SRM of 34, and opaque. The beer's appearance is above average for this style.
Nosing the beer, I detect notes of coconut, bourbon, dark chocolate, medium roasted coffee, char, oak, light Maillard, vanilla, caramel, raisins, and toasted dark bread. After smelling the beer a few times, I noticed a light floral, nuttiness, creaminess, and a light burnt note. The coconut is a bit more pronounced.
Sipping the beer, heavy wood, coconut, earthy, vanilla, Maillard, char, light floral notes, molasses, and bourbon. A few more swallows, and I notice caramel, medium-roasted coffee, dark chocolate, oak, raisins, nuttiness, creaminess, and a hint of burnt grains. Tastes like an upscale Almond Joy.
The mouthfeel is chewy, with a heavy finish. The body is heavy with low carbonation.
Final Thought: The beer has more coconut, and the adjuncts are more noticeable than in the last Rhino I tried. The beer reminds me of premium Almond Joy with bourbon. I enjoyed this better than the last one.

500ml bottle from Tavour. Black pour, flat. Sweet coconut aroma, chocolaty. Taste features layers of coconut and sweet chocolate. Velvety, smooth, creamy. Hint of booze. Top notch.

Fantastic BA offering with plenty of candy bar notes and boozy sweet flavors. The Heaven Hill barrels deliver some char and spice, and the coconut is nice; authentic and blending well with the chocolate flavors.

Amazing coconut aroma and flavor, with layers of rich vanilla, chocolate, and bourbon. Soft sweetness to finish. One of the best of the Rhino Suit series.

The beers pours the expected blackish brown color with good head retention and lacing. It's not particularly viscous looking, but it still looks like a beer that has seen some pretty serious barrel aging. On the nose I get an attractive aroma of light coconut, light bourbon, coffee, vanilla and some underlying milk chocolate. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, but it's the mouthfeel that is the best feature in this moderately sweet beer. The label lists this as an bourbon barrel aged imperial milk stout, and the beer really does have a "milk stout" kind of mouthfeel. On the palate this beer is very soft and creamy, with a silky long finish. Alcohol is pretty well integrated into the flavor profile, though you can sense the abv. is up there a bit. The beer is really pretty light on it's feet for such a sizeable beer.

A nice enough beer for sure, though it's not in the same league as Fremont's Coconut Bbomb (for example). This is an enjoyable beer, but I would have liked a bit more bourbon and coconut character. Regardless, this is another solid effort from the folks at Alesong.
