This beer is one of a kind. Too often I get a beer that boasts of maple syrup and it’s just way too much. What this beer does is gives you the aroma you’d expect with this type of style, but without the sweet maply punch, leaving room for the other flavors that are more subtle, usually masked by the maple syrup. They do this by not adding the maple to the beer, but barrel aging it in maple syrup barrels. But this beer goes further, having exceptional bourbon notes most likely due to the fact that the barrels were pappy van winkle. It’s an all around experience of what exceptional craftsmanship should taste like.
