this is part of the terroir project series, which is distinct from the terroir series, which also had a pinot noir grape beer many years ago (and was fantastic), this is something different, and its also wonderful. i believe that one was refermented on pinot noir must, while this one is cofermented with the fresh crushed fruit, seems a way higher fruit intensity to me, really special stuff. pretty deep purple from the bottle with just a little bit if clouding sediment towards the bottom, short lightly pink stained head, lots of carbonation, looks well conditioned in the bottle. aroma on this is fire, juicy pinot noir still in fruit form, not yet all the way to wine, which is a neat moment to capture this, like halfway there, lots of oak and funk too, very alesong on the ferment with a ton of nuance, not real sour, more wild than acidic, light pucker is all, mouthwatering, fruit first but there is some grain here too. the flavor follows the nose, insane, tons of pinot noir, so juicy, vanilla and leather and partially dried strawberry, i presume a heck of an expression of the fruit from this place, has to be! warming to red and black raspberry, tangy cherry, and notes of red licorice, black tea, and subtle medicine, insanely complex and mature on the ferment too with a fair bit of oak, wild character, and late citrusy quickness, good carbonation, fuller medium body with a little bit of fruit sugar left in it, and a gorgeous red wine recall after the swallow, lush and jammy and fresh despite how mature the beer is overall. extremely special liquid here, i need to track down the others in this series. what a magnificent beer! this also has me eager to drink wine from walnut ridge, this fruit profile is one of a kind!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
