On-draught @ Jabeerwocky in Warsaw in 2016. Fruit beer with cinnamon. 6.66% ABV.
A: Dull Amber body. No head or lacing whatsoever. Appears drab and uninviting.
Sm: Cherry extract (though it's better than that makes it sound), cherry filling, lightly toasted malts, mulled wine spices, high sweetness. Seems nice.
Aromatic intensity is moderately high.
T & Mf: Cherry pie filling, toasted malt, delightful Caramel, pie crust, cinnamon, maybe some treacle, mulled wine spices, high malt sweetness.
It's a bit thin, bordering on watery at points, and I wish it were heftier and fuller-bodied. The texture doesn't commit to the filling cherry pie vibe the way the taste does. Well-carbonated, smooth, wet.
O: A drinkable if shallow entry in the vague fruit beer category, this beer offers cherry beer lovers a Belgian bend without any of the usually concomitant sourness. It's fine for what it is, but the depth of flavour just isn't there, the texture doesn't do much to accentuate the taste, the build isn't gestalt, and the flavour it does offer gets tired even drinking a 330ml pour.
