1500th review!
Only 1983 bottles produced.
Farmhouse ale aged in Twenty Valley wine barrels for 11 months.
Appearance - Pours a clear chardonnay with two fingers of bubbly white head that fades quickly.
Smell - vinous aromas, strawberries, raspberries, oak, grape musk, general wine tannins, earthy and floral hops, bready malts, and earthy spicy yeast.
Taste - vinous aromas, strawberries, and raspberries upfront. The oak, grape musk, wine tannins, and earthy and floral hops come through next. The bready malts and earthy spicy yeast finish off the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Finishes a tad on the dry side with the vinous characteristics, and berries lingering.
Overall - A flavourful and fruit forward saison that displays all elements well. I wish the head retention was a tad better but still a noteworthy brew.
