473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 11 2023 and served barely chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow colour, with countless flecks of sediment clouding its complexion. Situated atop is more than two fingers of bubbly, soapy white head that collapses within two or three minutes; a sudsy collar and filmy cap remain, with a beautiful coat of lacing also having been deposited. Highly aromatic, with fruity notes of peach juice, mango and orchard fruit, as well as suggestions of white grape, pineapple and spicy, woodsy hops.
Not bad at all: tastes fruity throughout the sip, with flavours of nectarine, pineapple, honeydew melon and mandarin orange dominating the forefront; kind of a syrupy-sweet fruit cup vibe going on. Hints of pine resin bitterness and floral, spicy hops come through at the finish; chalky, fruity aftertaste that reminds me of Flintstone vitamins. Medium in body, with low-ish carbonation that gently prickles the tongue; medium-light in body, maybe a little on the thin side for 6%, but this probably improves its drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.78, a B+. As I sniffed my glass the first few times, Hopsters Cryo IPA managed to get my hopes up... yet the overall experience wound up feeling somewhat lacking. The Chinook hops helped considerably, but not enough to truly distance it from the pack: fruity/hazy IPAs are obviously a dime a dozen these days, and this is an above average example, at best. I'm still on the fence about Cryo Pop - it definitely adds something worthwhile to a brew, but I don't think it can carry a full strength IPA on its back.

473 ml can served cold ito a chalice. LCBO purchase for around $3.75 CDN. Canned May 16, 2023.
Appearance - Hazy pale golden brew with a finger plus of white head on top. Medium retention.
Smell - Muted floral notes with some citrus.
Taste - Muted citrus again, maybe some lemon and orange with a coconut backing. Not sabro hops but maybe cryo pop tastes similar. Not terribly bitter, but not sweet or piney either.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, a little creamy kind of smooth and leaves a bit of a slick sensation in the mouth. In that sense, sunscreen is something that comes to mind. Not unpleasant for a beer.
Overall - Bit of a miss by my count, not at all bad, just not something I'd pick up given a plethora of other options.
