Evana was not only our first Russian Imperial Stout, or the 5th Edition of our Passport Series...it is also the first beer brewed and packaged at our brand-new Worcester brewery! Evana is a smooth and creamy all-season stout showcasing a dark head and lacing, soft palate, and a slight finish of cocoa bitters. The stout lover will discover noticeable roasted malt and smooth chocolate flavors with a very subtle hop foundation. Evana flows like silk and drinks easy.

Overall dissapointing. Body was too thin, almost watery. Flavor was also shallow, needed more depth. Cocoa nibs didnt come through either. Not worth the 10% ABV.

Poured into a 13 oz thin tulip glass canned on 1/26/22. Pours a very dark near pitch black with a 2 finger mocha head that leaves some thin streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5
Aroma is cocoa nibs, vanilla bean, toffee, and caramel one dimensional as it gets, but not a bad thing. 4
Taste follows cocoa, vanilla, toffee, a little hint of coffee, and caramel with know alcohol detected. 4
Mouthfeel is above medium, gentle carbonation, maybe a little dry, and at 10% it drinks like that, but still easy enough drinking. 4.25
Overall I am enjoying this one, far from blown away but I would grab another 4 rack of this without hesitation. 4

Can dated 10/22/21 into pint glass. Pours an inky brown with a rich but brief tan head. No lacing. Initial impression is roasted malts, and a bit of chocolate. Alcohol is quite well hidden. Mouthfeel is medium-thick and fairly smooth. Finish is more roastiness, fading to a slightly bitter dark chocolate and a touch of alcohol warming. Overall, a very well executed RIS.

Pours a dark brown with a small brown head and moderate lacing.
Smells of toasted malt, chocolate and coffee.
Tastes of slightly bitter coffee and semi-sweet chocolate.
Medium light body with light carbonation. Soft, clean mouthfeel.
This enjoyable strong sipper is lighter, less cloy and less syrupy than most of the imperial stouts I have tried.

Described on the label as an Imperial Chocolate Stout and by B.A. as a Russian Imperial Stout, let's presume it's the same brew. Black coffee in color, with a substantial brown head that leaves no glass lacing as it subsides. The aroma is almost entirely of roasted malt. The faint chocolate may be there by suggestion. The taste and mouthfeel are very rich and smooth, especially for a beverage carrying a 10% ABV. There's a little more chocolate in the taste than the nose picked up. Because of the soft delivery, it appears like milk chocolate but without the additional sweetness. Not to mislead, this is a Stout on the sweeter side than some, but that's expected with the rich roasted malt and high dose of barely noticeable alcohol. It's not a milk chocolate concoction. There's no hoppy contribution here, but that would be unnecessary and spoil what this Stout achieves.

A- Tallboy pours an oily beast into a snifter with a pitch black body and a head that shoots up quickly to three fingers high and has very nice retention. The crown has a deep nutty cocoa brown hue and a thick foamy texture. When it finally falls and a few sips are had lacing is left behind with large, thin sheets.
S- Mostly roasted grains with some toasty influence and a slight touch of yeast/hops in there as well. Highlighted by dark chocolate and burnt malt aromas with notes of espresso, cocoa powder, nuts and milk chocolate as well as hints of dark dried fruits, earthy hops and caramel.
T- Transfers most of what was found in the aroma well but takes on a bit more of a milk chocolate or hot chocolate vibe as the sweetness comes out just a bit on the palate. The roast grains really run the show here. Dark roast coffee, bitter dark chocolate, brownies, chocolate chips, caramel, nuts and a hint of anise. Just very, very roasty and right down the middle between dry and sweet. Hints of dark fruit come out more and more in the finish with cherry and plum coming to mind but on the whole it is well rounded.
MF- Medium body with a moderately high level of carbonation. The texture is rather foamy but still somewhat creamy and soft on the palate. Ends with a dark, roasted bitterness.
Big dark chocolate, roast barley, burnt bitterness and moderately sweet. Clean and drinks smoothly when you take the ABV into account.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of fluffy mocha head. The head leaves some sticky cobweb lacing before settling into a thick blanket of foam.
The aroma brings tons of dark roasted malts, as well as some chocolate syrup and vanilla. There's a faint hint of roasted coffee on the back end.
The flavor brings lots of roasted malts, char and coffee, as well as some dark chocolate and hops on the finish.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A bit boozy with lots of lingering bitterness.
Overall, a pretty good imperial stout, but a pretty straightforward one as well. It has a strong flavor but there's nothing really interesting or standout here.

Third can, the two prior were poured into snifters. This one was poured into a tulip.
This time, a two finger tan foamy head capped the top and slid off modestly. Lots of messy lace ran around.
The aroma had sweet milk chocolate and dark chocolate malts running through each other with some coffee bean roastiness, dark toast, subtle vanilla beans dunked in liquid anise.
The flavor leaned into the sweet side of the milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Anise soaked vanilla beans remain subtle. Lingering aftertaste of dark chocolate and milk chocolate with some anise sticky sweet character.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Some noticeable booziness did show it's face despite me pretty sure the brewer obtained the projected ABV. Definitely a sticky finish of milk chocolate and anise.
Overall, I'd say a pretty nice imperial stout done up with a huge ABV. Last can hit the spot on a late Sunday early Spring Vermont morning.

16oz can served in a tulip. 10/29/18. Wife's internet friend sent it to her.
Pours black with a nice light brown head and a moderate to high carbonation. Smell is anise (lots of anise) and coffee. Maybe a little chocolate.
Taste is along the same lines, with the addition of strong roasty flavors.
Mouthfeel is thick, but not sticky. Overall, it's very good.
