Bought this a while ago at KCBC because I was on a kick of their beers at the time and yes, I drive a Taxi and with the cab on the label, how could I not get this? I enjoy the style to and this was nicely enjoyable and true to form while being a session beer at the same time...
The pour to this was golden, bubbly, and topped off with plenty of frothy head that took it's time to settle down. Plenty of lemon and pineapple funk in the nose as the label even had the culprit with a pineapple head! Lots of citrus zest, light spice, and salt came through in the taste as with some lively yeast underneath all of that. A mouthfeel like lime soda and plenty of carbonation kept this lighthearted as none of the flavors lingered on my palate for very long. Citrus zest lingered in the aftertaste with a bit of herbs and funk thrown in for good measure...
Technically, this was a beer but given how little alcohol was in this, you'd be hard-pressed to see it as such. Not great or bad, this was enjoyable and unoffensive but didn't stand out from the better examples of the style that I've had over the years. Someone new to Goses would be wise to start off with this KCBC has combined the pineapple and lemon nicely to come up with a concoction worthy of it's freewheeling moniker!

On tap at Mekelburg’s, Brooklyn. 8 oz sample.
Pours a hazy yellow straw color. Modest head quickly dues down.
In the nose there is pineapple and lemon, along with a light herbal funk.
Zesty and fruity flavors of pineapple contrasting nicely with the sour taste of lemon. What I like about this one is how the acidity is restrained enough that it doesn’t overwhelm a malt presence that adds body. The addition of salt is subtle; nicely done.
Light bodied, crisp, moderately carbonated and very dry in the finish. Tart overall, but with a reasonable sweetness from the pineapple and malts that take the edge off a bit.
Nice interpretation of Gose from a great local brewery!

A: The beer is hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and some specks of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of funk and sour yogurt are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having sour flavors of lemon yogurt with bits of funk, some saltiness and some notes of pineapples, the latter of which are only noticeable in the finish.
M: It feels light-bodied and a little tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very refreshing to drink and has an interesting mix of flavors in the taste, particularly with the pineapples that creep in towards the finish.
