A- Tallboy pours into a tulip glass with a truly floury and murky pale yellow-gold body. The head rises to one finger quickly with a foamy-frothy texture and decent retention. A small ring at the edges leaves just a few lacing spots.
S- Hoppy aroma with both citrus and tropical fruit notes coming in fairly strongly. Mango, grapefruit, papaya, tangerine and melon notes with herbal, dank and floral hints as well. Medium overall strength and hints at some green-ness in the hops.
T- Grapefruit and mango come to mind first and after a sip the raw hop green character does come out leading to a slightly astringent bitterness and that raw hop flavor that coats the palate in the finish. Very mildly disruptive but still some good stuff comes through. Aside that stuff you find some guava, tangerine, pineapple, melon and bubble gum hints as well as whole grain and crackery pale malt notes. Medium overall sweetness.
MF- Puffy and creamy texture and this beer is just about chewy from that consistency. High level of carbonation and the beer foams up with very little agitation. Herbal bitterness in the finish.
Soft, citrusy and tropical IPA that drinks smoothly for the most part outside of some green hints in the hops. Medium sweetness and a nice soft mouthfeel.

Amazing deep citrus aroma when opening this pint can from the brewery source, dated 6/9/19. Mango and pearl with some pine notes, a finger of carbonation and nice lacing.Rich almost cantaloupe color. Smooth mouthfeel. One of their best , but I haven’t had a bad one yet! Brooklyn NY brewery is the perfect hang. ❤️

Picked this up a while ago, finally getting around to it today since I was away for much of this year. I enjoyed the other incarnations of this offering but this beer didn't do a whole lot for me. The hops and malt were different than what I was accustomed to but they didn't quite mesh nicely as I hoped, as this was a bit too light and acrid for me to fully enjoy.
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was quite muddled, off-gold, and topped off with enough head to be noticed. Spots of soapy lacing lined the inside of my pint glass but by no means was it extensive or impressive. Lots of lemon, grapefruit, and Pale Malt in the nose with some punchy citrus and pineapple underneath that. All of those were present in the taste but the pine and peppery spice that came in as this warmed up never really grew on me. Somewhat syrupy, dank, and not too slick, the mouthfeel was heavy in contrast to the lightness of the taste, as some blueberry and raspberry juice stuck around in the aftertaste.
Not a lot of booze here but it seemed stronger than it was in actuality. Dated 5/13 of last year on the bottom of the can with 'ROBOT 5" written above it, this wasn't the best of the bunch but was worth a go once for something different. Hard to pick out the Mosaic but underneath this muddled bunch of flavors, it was a saving grace for this beer. Of course, the artwork on the can was top-notch but I had higher hopes for this that just the appearance...

Can states Optic|Simcoe and lists 6.6% ABV, cool artwork on the can but no freshness date. Drank from the can on the train ride home, so will score "Looks" as 3.75 since it tastes and smells very good.
Flavor has zesty citrus like lemon and grapefruit up front which washes away with biscuit and graham cracker, a touch of caramel and piney hops. Earthy notes like pine, grass and tea leaves show up along with light floral and peppery spices. Really well balanced but as the can goes down no other hop components jump out to make this special. Above average in every way, it's a very drinkable beer.

Initial impression from a can purchased as part of a 4-pack from Whole Paycheck:
"IPA." Brewed with pearl and Mosaic hops. 6.6% ABV.
CAN has flashy colourful label art.
APPEARANCE: Pours a white cap atop a murky dull copper body. Not all that enticing...
AROMA: Mosaic's trademark subtle blueberry is evident. Some floral hop character is there too. Pale malts seem to keep it balanced.
Aromatic intensity is average at most.
TASTE: Slightly tropical, with subdued Mosaic-imparted subtle blueberry flavour. Pale malts keep it balanced, but hop pungency is limited as-is depth of flavour.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, approachable, medium-bodied, somewhat soft, somewhat refreshing. Well-carbonated.
OVERALL: Highly drinkable fare I intend to revisit again shortly. KCBC has never stuck out to me in the Brooklyn brewing scene, but this is interesting work.

07/10/17 2nd impressions from another can:
Uninteresting appearance. Body is dull but the head consistency and retention is above average. Could be softer and frothier, to nitpick.
Aroma hints at dirty lime, guava, indistinct tropical fruit, passionfruit, and grass. Mosaic isn't showcased particularly well, and I doubt I'd peg this for a Mosaic hopped IPA in a blind taste test given the reticence of its signature blueberry aroma/flavour. Aromatic intensity average. No off-notes are indicated, nor is any overt booze.
Taste hits that dirty lime flavour the aroma promised, which isn't all that pleasant. Hints of agave and guava join with indistinct tropical fruit to murky effect, giving this beer an unfocused rough-around-the-edges vibe when coupled with its lack of balance. Hop pungency is limited, as is depth of flavour. Flavour duration is below average; flavour intensity is low for the style.
Mouthfeel is good carbonation-wise, but it's unrefreshing in spite of being smooth and wet. Not as juicy or light-bodied as would be ideal.
It's a drinkable IPA overall, but I hoped for better given the use of Mosaic and this beer series' high reputation amongst NYC craft beer fans. It's nice enough and I've enjoyed finishing the 4 pack, but the quality here doesn't warrant its high pricetag and I'd much sooner reach for a more hop-emphatic beer at a more reasonable $10-12 per six pack price. This leaves a lot to be desired especially in a style as oversaturated as India Pale Ale.

16oz. can into a Surly teku. Really dig the KCBC labels.
Hazy and lazy. Nose is citrus and pineapple. Appetizing but very subtle. Beer opens sweet with hints of cane sugar, pineapple and citrus. There's a bit of spiciness too. Huge malt profile with the most subtle tropical and piney hop bitterness. Very drinkable. Body is light with aggressive carbonation. Prickly and crisp on the palate and goes down easy. A perfect summer brew.
Just a really enjoyable beer.
