From the can, it pours a hazy, nearly turbid straw yellow orange color. Carbonation is visible, along with a very well retaining thumb length moussy head.
The hops forward aroma showcases citrus and tropical fruit. The citrus aromas stand out first, as they display notes of orange, tangerine, lemon and grapefruit. This is followed by soft tropical notes of mango and papaya, as well as a modest amount of herbaceous dank.
The taste opens with citrusy flavors that are zesty, amidst a dry and neutral cracker malt base. Notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange and lemon, more pithy than sweet, interacting with piny and peppery hops, as well as a modest bitterness. As the drink warms, tropical fruit notes of mango and papaya open up nicely.
On the light side of medium bodied, crisp and moderate to gently carbonated. The finish is fairly clean and dry.
KCBC IPAs rarely disappoint; this is no exception. Drinkable and easy going with enough hops flavors to keep things interesting.

Picked up this beer a while ago, as the date on the bottom of the can read 9/20/17 with "FOR THE BIRDS" written above it. Not overly impressed with this but the beer was par with KCBCs other offerings that I've had before and yes, the label art and idea behind it were impressive as always! This aged well (not my intent) and with little sediment in it, it was still decent for malting out on me...
Not a bad look to this as the beer had an amber appearance to it with plenty of foam to top it off. That took quite a while to settle down with a few rings of lacing left behind near the top of my pint glass. Lots of ripe, tropical fruit in the nose with some dank hops thrown in for good measure. The taste was slick and heavy but not enough to weigh me down or slow my session too much. Melon and rind came in as this fully warmed up with a nice oily coating left on my teeth once I finally finished this off...
Not a lot of booze here and the carbonation wasn't too intense either. Not a winner or loser, I let this go for too long but still found it easy to drink and full of enough things to like about it, even if it wasn't memorable. This one was certainly not for the birds, however!

Poured from a 16oz can into a Speiglau IPA glass.
Look is a hazy orange amber with with an offwhite thick head.
Aroma is strong mango and orange.
Taste is more of that tropical mango with a little bit of pithy bitterness. Light on body though.

A: The beer is hazy to cloudy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that faded away, leaving lots of specks of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of mangos and cantaloupe melons are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of tropical fruits such as mangos and papayas along with notes of melons, which become much stronger as the beer warms up. A light amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is very fruity and becomes balanced with flavors of tropical fruits and melons once it warms up.

Tall can, "FOR THE BIRDS 9/20/17" on the bottom
Cool, bird themed can sticker label, with some info about keeping migrating birds safe
Pours typical looking hazed amber, super fine bubble faint fields of stick left behind, as well as a coating film, and thin collar...quality looking brew.
Sniff is mildly of ripe tropicals
Smooth, easy drinking and tasty creation with more ripe fruit, melon and pineapple coming to mind...
Better then decent, but nothing really over the top amazing...which I guess makes this one well worth a try, just don't expect to be blown away
