Collaboration with Mikkeller Brewing San Diego
A truly EPIC stout, brewed with our West Coast friends at Mikkeller Brewing San Diego and our Bushwick buddies at Spectrum Coffee. Featuring a blend of Honduran and Colombian coffees, plus 6 different kinds of rye -- including maplewood-smoked danko rye from NY Craft Malt. Fresh morning brew coffee on the nose & thick mocha sweetness from your first sip to you last.

A nice Russian imperial stout but a bit too hot. Lots of dark chocolate and roasty coffee flavors. Deep and dark, heavy and filling. Do not disrespect this beer!

A- Tallboy pour into a becher with a midnight black body and a tan cap. The head has a creamy and silky texture and pretty good retention. Wide sheets of thin lace coat the glass.
S- Coffee is huge and so are the roasted malts that compliment it. Espresso and coffee grounds makes up most of the aroma but chocolate, roast barley, dark fruits and toasted nuts also come to mind.
T- Just a massive amount of coffee up front with dark fruits and roasted grains. 80% dark chocolate, espresso, coffee grounds, toasted nuts, toffee and a moderately high sweetness.
MF- Very thick bodied brew with a moderately low level of carbonation and a slick and silky body. Ends warm from the alcohol and somewhat bitter from the roast things. Texture is puffy and slightly creamy.
Does not drink at the ABV advertised and just brings the coffee and roast grains big time. Smooth and flavorful and overall well balanced.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a finger high dark tan head that died down but never completely faded away, leaving a short head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of coffee beans are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having stronger flavors of coffee beans and a light amount of associated bitterness.
M: It feels full-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a very nice coffee stout. I couldn't believe how strong it was after seeing its alcohol content because any traces of alcohol are well hidden from the taste.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Kane Brewery snifter; no production dates but purchased at the brewery on 2/9/2019 (4 days ago).
A: Pours a thick black color with an emergent, two to three finger, milk chocolate brown head, retention to only a rim, and modest lacing. Looks thick.
S: Aromas of cafe au lait, cookie, blackberry, and plum. Comforting when savored.
T: Sweet, although lactose sweetness seems subsumed into a more complex and more broadly derived sweetness. Flavor of espresso really strong out front; maybe molasses and dark berries. Bitterness hits the "baby bear" sweet spot.
M: Full bodied with low, but persistent carbonation.
O: Just gorgeous and delicious. If you like coffee stouts, you'll like this one. If you don't, but you like coffee, you'll likely still like this. If you like desserts, you might still like this. But if you don't like any of those, go chew on a celery stick.
