Blood Orange Passion Fruit Gose // Zack's brew
Vibrant, hazy orange (juice) in the glass, with bright tropical citrus on the nose and sea-salt spritz. Soft mouthfeel, freshly squeezed-fruit flavor, and a salty shock-tart-zing on the finish. Savagely crushable? Crushable savage? You decide.

L: Apricot murky with three fizzy fingers of orange-tinged head fading quickly to a narrow collar and minor lacing.
S: Sour lemon, kumquat, passionfruit, confectionery sugar, and the salty sea air.
T: Following the nose pretty closely. Quite sour but enough sugar to make it palatable. The flavors blend to a single note
F: Salty, tart, and bitter. Light medium mouthfeel. Bitey good carbonation.
O: This is balanced and a fine sour. It fails to stand out in t field though. Happy to have it once only.

Opaque with a sherbert, orange/gold appearance, that is remarkably similar to the meat of a mango. The head is thin, white, and short-lived. Fine bubbles leave occasional spotty lace on a tulip glass.
The aroma is composed of subtle mango and pineapple, followed by a hint of tangerine. With warmth mango, while still subtle, takes the lead, followed by what might be considered light bay brine.
Fresh, ripe fruit unsurprisingly tastes like mango. Mango is more prominent here than it was in the nose, as is the briny bay flavor that reminds me of Sandy Hook, NJ. Citrus fills the background, primarily with lime and tangerine. This is fairly tart and in balance with sweetness. A citrus finish is long and refreshing.
Both the medium body and presence of alcohol are surprising. The texture is silky smooth with light effervescence.
I enjoyed this on a sunny, cold, February afternoon. However, it will shine on a warm, late spring or early summer morning, and it paired excellently with French Fries.

From the can it pours a hazy orange color. A moderate head quickly dissipates.
The aroma opens with a moderately mild amount of funk and grass. This is tempered tart and fruity notes of lemon, orange and lime. A light amount of salt evokes aromas of a gentle and distant sea breeze.
As expected, the taste is tart but not too mouth puckering. There are flavors of kiwi, lime, orange, grapefruit lemon, green apples and white grape, all of which take the edge off of the tartness. There is a modest amount of salt in the background. The wheat malt backbone adds softness.
Medium to light bodied, soft mouthfeel and moderately carbonated. The finish is dry.
Solid and well done Gose that is not too strong and accessible overall.

This beer is it. It looks like a gorgeous mix of Sunny D and Orange Gatorade. The nose is astounding with a base of clementine, topped with citrus zest, raspberry and melon. It tastes like if 5 Alive had a sumptuous, balanced tartness - orange, lemon, lime, tangerine, grapefruit. As far as feel goes, tingly up top, sumptuous in the quench - coats the mouth - and balanced on the finish. This is one of my favorite beers I've ever had.
UPDATE: Had this again poured as a draft at Beer Culture in Hell's Kitchen. It dawned on me and my buddy that another great way to describe this is like a perfectly tart Mimosa-Bellini mix. My god is this beer incredible.

A: The beer is cloudy dark yellow in color. It poured with quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving a few specks of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of blood orange, guava, and passion fruit are present in the nose along with hints of salty funk.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has much stronger flavors of tropical fruits with guava and passion fruit standing out in particular. There are some notes of limes and hints of saltiness towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This gose tastes more like a fruit drink than a beer. I really liked all of the tropical flavors in the taste.
