For our Pink Boots Society collab, we brewed a very special spin-off version of our SUPERHERO SIDEKICKS IPA—same exact malt & yeast, but we swapped out the usual hops for the 2019 Pink Boots hop blend (Mosaic, Simcoe, Sabro, Glacier & Loral) from the good folks at Yakima Chief Hops.

16 ouncer..."canned on 2/24/21"
Pours out with a typical pleasing NEIPA juiced/hazed look. Lighter squash soup in appearance, rocky and lasting eggshell cap, leaving all sorts of froth, sheeting and lace.
Sniff reveals bright and fresh stonefruit notes abounding...peaches, mango and strawberry coming to mind.
On the palate this is again freshly fruity and quite pleasing...if you like fruity/juicy NEIPA this is enjoyable and hits the right note. Go get some.

From the can it pours a turbid orange. A moderate head displays decent retention and dissipates into a sudsy film. There is lacing throughout.
The nose is fragrant with fruity and floral aromas, as well as hints of doughy and biscuity malt sweetness. There are juicy notes of peach, nectarine, apricot, candied orange, melon and berries. With this much hops character, there are of course aromas that are herbal, resiny and dank.
The taste mostly align with the aroma except that fruity flavors open up more muted and with a less juicy and drier palate. Furthermore, amidst a dry cracker malt background, the herbal hops flavors provide spicy, piney and peppery notes that add much zest. Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation throughout. The mouthfeel feels prickly due to the plethora of hops. However, it somewhat smooths out as flavors open and settle. The malt becomes more doughy and sweet, while juicy flavors of peach, nectarine, apricot, passion fruit, mango, grapefruit and orange help balance the earthy spices. The finish has a grassy spice and bright pithy notes of lemon, long, dry and with a moderate resiny bitterness.
I really love KCBC IPAs and this one was no exception. Great aroma with a balanced and refreshingly crushable taste that went well with the spicy food I was eating at the time.
