Collaboration with Jack's Abby Craft Lagers

Vollmond Helles Lager. Under a fierce full-moon (“vollmond”) back in February, two different lagers were brewed simultaneously at two different breweries. This is the Munich-style Helles version, brewed here at KCBC, with our wolf-pack-lager-brethren from Jack's Abby Craft Lagers. Delicate pils malt, soft noble hops & dry finish. Bordering on Festbier, with lightly toasted malt flavors in support. Mad drinkable. 100% Massachusetts malt from Stone Path Malt and hops from Four Star Farms.

A: The beer is slightly hazy dark golden yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high off white head that died down a bit but consistently left a short head covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of biscuit malts are present in the nose along with hints of grassy hops.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of biscuit malts with notes of toasted malts and hints of grassy hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little dry and chalky on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes a little more maltier compared to other beers in the style but is still very drinkable.
