Collaboration with Threes Brewing
Italian Style Pilsner featuring Eraclea pilsner malt, grown in sunny barley fields near Venice, Italy, kissed by the Adriatic Sea. Gently hopped with Celeia from nearby Slovenia, plus German-grown Saphir. Soft, floral sweetness, subtle citrus, and crisp, herbal spice on the finish. Infinitely crushable. Worth the wait.

Pours a clear yellow straw color with visible spritzy carbonation. A moderate white head retains well.
Hoppy aroma displays citrus and stone fruit hops. Notes of tangerine and peach. Malt aroma is dry and crackery.
The taste opens sweetly with soft crackery Pilsner malts balanced with bright fruity hops flavors. Flavors of tangerine, pear, lemon and peach are supported by earthy hops spice that is floral and has a gentle grassy touch. The yeast flavors evoke lightly peppery notes along with, curiously enough, notes of coriander and orange peel which remind me somewhat of a Witbier.
Light bodied with a dry and crisp finish. Not much bitterness, instead, the hops yield more in the way of flavor.
Easy to drink with some refreshing properties, and well hopped overall. I don’t really view this as a traditional euro pale lager.

A: The beer is somewhat hazy pale yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving just a dime-sized patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of floral and grassy hops are present in the nose along with hints of herbal hops.
T: The taste follows the smell and is mostly dominated by flavors of floral and grassy hops, which also contribute a light amount of bitterness. There are underlying hints of pilsener malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a bit of cleanest along with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found the hoppy aromas and flavors of this pilsner to be enjoyable, as most of the Italian-style lagers that I have had in the past have seemed to be somewhat bland.
