Collaboration with LIC Beer Project

Had a blast brewing and riffing on Brain On Hops and Pile Of Crowns with our buddies from LIC, and this stupid-drinkable beast is the result. Citrus-n-stone-fruit hazy joose with a hint of dankness. Completely clobbered with multiple additions of Citra, Citra cryo, Mosaic, and Cashmere, and fully loaded with creamy oats. Mmmmm… hops…. Mmmmm…. braaaaiiiins.

Pours a hazy bright orange color with a large foamy head that quickly dissipates. It leaves a thin layer of film and lacing throughout.
The aroma is, simply put, a pleasure to hold up to the nose. Big bursts of fragrant tropical fruit and pungent herbal hops. Aromatic notes of mango and pineapple, as well as citrus. Leafy and green herbal hops yield increasing notes of dankness.
Juicy taste with flavors of freshly squeezed citrus and tropical fruit pulp amidst a neutral dry cracker malt base with an oats creaminess. Notes of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, orange and a touch of stone fruit, all lightly laced with touches of alcohol spice. The bright and fruity hops flavors are complimented by developing herbal, piny and spicy hops flavors. Although the general juiciness yields sweetness, the emerging hops profile lends a degree of restrained to moderate bitterness that adds good balance.
Medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel that nevertheless carries an element of crispness. The carbonation is moderate. Hard to believe the ABV is 8.8% since this is so easy to crush.
This was so delicious and easy to drink that I feel like I could have drank multiple cans despite it being a DIPA. Living in NYC, I don’t have experience with the whole lawn mower beer phenomenon. However, I would gladly take this over a lite beer; that is how refreshing it was.
