Palate Contaminants: other beer
It fizzed out on me. Too much fine head, and of course there's no way to avoid lacing. Medium-light yellow color.
Nose has candied oranges and papaya. There's a metallic scent.
For the taste, there's some moderately bitter orange for the fruit. It seems to be more herbal than anything, though. Leafy oregano and tarragon. Fresh cut grass and greenchop. A metallic taste is present here, too.
There's still lots of carbonation left, so too much of a good thing. Slightly prickly. Feel is slightly thin for the type. Woody aftertaste that has traces of starchy fruit.

This gets better as it warms slightly. Looks like straight orange juice, but thankfully doesn’t taste it. Very aggressively hopped with a medium-thick mouthfeel.

Pours a hazy yellow orange color. A moderate head retains well. There is lacing.
The nose is very citrusy with notes of grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime. There are also tropical aromas of pineapple and papaya. Later, dank aromas of grass and herbs develops.
A cracker and creamy oats malt base gives way to fruity hops flavors. Notes of grapefruit, orange, pineapple and papaya evoke a bright juiciness. Balanced by a modest hops bitterness, resiny and lemon and lime like spices, pine and grass. The finish is smooth and semi dry.
Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and soft but has some bite due to the hops.
Totally crushable and tasty. A typical delicious KCBC IPA.

A: Poured from the can into a Palm tulip. Body is hazy tannish-yellow, with no head whatsoever. Appears flat in that way.
S: Good nose of sweeter tropical fruit (ripe melon, papaya) and citrus (candied orange peel).
T: Follows the nose, with sweeter hoppiness the dominant flavor: some pineapple, papaya, ripe melon, candied orange peels. ripe clementines and a hint of lime at the finish.
M: Medium in heft. Juicy in feel. No real carbonation, which I think detracts from the overall taste impression.
O: Very good. Not earth-shattering, but good.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy yellow in color. It poured with just a thin collar of white bubbles around the edge, some specks of bubbles on the surface, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of basil, limes, and pineapple are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but is a bit stronger with flavors of limes and pineapples and notes of basil.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes like a hybrid between an American IPA and a New England IPA. I thought that the aromas and flavors of basil added a unique twist.

Can from Whole Foods on the UWS NYC.
Pours a hazy pale yellow with generous white head and good lacing, smell is dank candied citrus and pine resin, taste follows the nose with melon up front, candied citrus zest, and finishes with a spicy dank pith that lingers, this beer is full bodied with nice carbonation. A solid citrusy crusher.
