Collaboration with Weathered Souls Brewing Co.

Brewed as part of a global effort within the craft beer community to support justice & equality for people of color. Aromas & flavors of bittersweet chocolate, blackstrap molasses, creamy oats & burnt caramel, with soft alcohol warmth and a roasty-yet-smooth finish. No adjuncts; just stout. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Center for Racial Justice in Education here in NYC, to support their efforts.

Served in a Teku Glass from the can.

Appearance: Semi thick brown tinted black body with medium bubbles to the body. Tan head rose to maybe half a finger's length off the body but drops quick after one sip.

Smell: Heavy coffee coming off hitting the nostrils swiftly. Comes and goes and super desirable from the beginning.

Taste: Very malty bitter espresso bean with hints of a lighter but not sweet vanilla undertone. The one thing that surprised me but maybe just being a type old school is a touch malty, more so a very bitter bite.

Mouth: Deep sticky body but comes off a bit thin. Soft carbonation feeling a bit syrupy.

Overall: Descent brew but doesn't bring anything new to the table with imperial Stouts. Worth grabbing at the very least once if it crossed your eyes.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high dark tan head that died down a bit, leaving a layer of bubbles covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dark malts are present in the nose along with hints of molasses.
T: The taste follows the smell but has stronger notes of bittersweet chocolate and hints of molasses.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout does a remarkable job at hiding any traces of alcohol from the taste. For this reason, it is quite easy to drink.
