The latest addition to our 100%-New-York-State series--this time, loaded up with a crew of kushy lil’ buds of Zeus, Nugget, Cashmere, Centennial, and MI Copper hops from our buddies at Chimney Bluffs & Crooked Creek. Smooth malt backbone courtesy of NY Craft Malt & 1886. Fresh squeezed citrus, dank melon, tangy bitterness. Crushable.

A fairly mild AIPA but the bitterness and piney flavor are welcome in the midst of juice bombs!!! Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features a slightly hazy golden color and a big foamy whitehead. Head retention is good and there are bands of patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste include some biscuity and caramel malt, lots of grapefruit and some piney and herbal bitterness. Not quite a "head shrinker" but the mouthfeel is crisp with enough bitterness to classify as a West Coast AIPA. I had it with a great rack of lamb meal and it complemented the food well.

I got a tall boy can of this beer off the single shelf at the Perfect Pour beer store in Dublin, Ohio and shared with my good friend Kenny O. It poured a slightly hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had bold sweet ripe fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright malt base and sweet ripe tropical fruit presence and a boozy finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

A: The beer is slightly hazy amber yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that quickly died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of caramel malts and citrus are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of honeydew melon with hints of orange citrus and underlying notes of caramel malts. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is some dryness in the finish.
O: The taste of this beer has a nice balance between the malts and hops.

This one pours a light amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like bready and caramelly malt, marijuana, and grapefruit.
This is too malty and astringent - it's not up to the usual quality from this brewery that's generally expected. There's lemon and grapefruit, with a sticky malt sweetness.
This is sticky sweet and kind of big bodied, with a halfway decent drinkability.
They can't all be winners.

From the can it pours a mostly clear golden amber color. A large foam head retains well. There are swirls of sticky lacing; good looking brew overall.
The aromas feel very West Coast. Lots of citrusy notes of grapefruit, lemon and lime, as well as herbal hops, pine, grass, floral hops, and of course plenty of dank. The malt aroma evokes honey and biscuits.
The taste highlights bright and pithy citrus flavors, including, grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime. A malt bready backbone evokes creamy notes of wheat, sourdough bread, biscuit and perhaps some spicy rye malt. Developing herbal hops spices add a gentle but firm bitterness. Very resiny with notes of pine, grass, and peppery spices. The finish is crisp, dry and resiny.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is semi crisp but with a smooth malt texture and a palate that runs both juicy and dry.
I really enjoyed this easy drinking IPA from one of my favorite local breweries.

"West coast style India Pale Ale"
Freshie 16 ounce can..."canned on 9/23/20"
Pours more then moderately hazed medium amber, exhibits a load of frothy, creamy and assorted lacing, sticking all over the glass.
Mild sniff of some soft melon, and some dusty/earthy hop notes.
Smooth, mild and soft in the mouth.
Again pretty tame and mild flavor wise, again I get some melon, some lime, and again soft dusty/earthy hop powder notes....pleasing and easy drinking...another quality offering from KCBC...go get some
